Webster's Dictionary defines counseling as, "an opinion suggesting a wise and proper course of action" or "the duty or function of watching or guarding for the sake of proper direction" and finally, "training that corrects, molds or perfects the mental faculties or moral character."

In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 we are told, "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Counseling is simply the function of teaching individuals the wise and proper course of action necessary to follow God's direction by guiding them to walk victoriously through the corrective molding of God-breathed scriptures being applied to their daily lives.

Counseling Pastor Debby Abney is not a medical professional. However, she is an ordained minister who has been walking with God for over 35 years and has served in various ministry positions. She and her husband Steve have been married over 30 years and have raised two sons together, so she understands the many conflicts we face in our everyday lives and the biblical principles that will bring us through them victoriously. It is her goal to help each individual overcome the attacks of the enemy and walk in victory through the power of the Holy Spirit, allowing perserverance to have its work and make them mature, complete, lacking nothing.
